When Alvi first set his sights on earning an MBA in the United States, he knew it wouldn't be easy. Coming from a different academic system, he had to take additional coursework like INTO OSU and even the GMAT to qualify. Still, that didn't stop him. After discussing his background and skillset with the admissions team, they saw his potential and granted him an exception—he was accepted into the MBA program with a focus on marketing.

Finding His Place in Oregon

Once he arrived in the State of Oregon, Alvi became part of the International Student Success Team. He took every opportunity to grow and connect. One night, he was invited to a private dinner with the dean and top academic students. Out of everyone, he was the only graduate student there. That dinner was more than just a meal—it opened doors. Alvi shared his story, his dreams, and why he chose to study in the USA. That conversation led to a connection with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of a university organization—an encounter that would change his life.

Today, as he wraps up his MBA, Alvi is actively involved in developing course materials and lab experiences for future students in the Supply Chain and Cybersecurity Management program.
